History

In 1943, Sven-Erik Bjerking, former seaman and engineer, founded the company S-E Bjerking Konsulterande Ingenjörsbyrå in Uppsala, Sweden. Fourteen years later, in 1957, the foundation of the company philosophy was set; that all employees contribute in different ways to the company's progress. Ever since, the active employees have also been the owners of the company.

Through the years, Bjerking became known as problem solvers and technical innovators in Uppsala, where they dominate the market. The Bjerking pile, Bjerking rebar shapes, and Bjerking rebar mats are just a few examples of the company's innovations.

In recent years, the company has been involved in different development projects in refurbishment and restoration technology. The focus has been on energy-saving, soundproofing and fire-protection solutions, decontamination of radon and asbestos, production of construction research reports and Handbooks.

The company's founder, Sven-Erik Bjerking, passed away in the summer of 2006 at the age of 92.
